The museletter is one writer's attempt at writing what he'd want to read.

No schedule. No advertising. No algorithm. When a piece is ready, it goes up. When it isn't, nothing does.

Most pieces run 200–500 words. The longer ones are longer because the argument required them. The shorter ones are shorter because the argument didn't.

The subjects vary — friendship, luck, work, the math underneath all three. What stays constant is the job: take a complex idea, pull out the mechanism, hand it back to the reader as something they can use.

Nick Mills writes this. He is a lawyer who codes, currently in New York. The annual letters started in 2019. The public broadsheet started in 2026. The annual letters were once a year. The broadsheet is whenever there is something worth saying.
